Julee is a registered psychologist and credentialed mental health nurse with over 40 years of experience working across acute mental health, both in the public and private sectors. She brings a deeply compassionate, neuroaffirming, and practical approach to therapy, drawing on her dual qualifications in psychology and nursing to support clients holistically through all stages of life.

With a strong interest in neurodiversity, Julee is passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals through affirming, strengths-based therapy. She provides adult autism and ADHD assessments and reports and is committed to helping clients understand their unique brains without pathologising their identity. She is proud to be a neuroaffirming practitioner and a member of LOAPAC, EMDRAA, AAPI, and AADPA.
Julee is trained in a wide range of evidence-based modalities, including:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Schema Therapy
- Gottman Method (Level 2) Couples Therapy
She works with clients of all ages and stages—from older adults to teenagers and new mothers—and has a particular heart for supporting young mums through the emotional and psychological challenges of early parenthood.
Julee is also the author of A Practical Guide to Therapy: Making the Most of Your Mental Health and Personal Growth and the companion workbook Therapy Journal: Walking Towards Mental Health. She writes regular articles on Substack and hosts a podcast aimed at making therapy more accessible, relatable, and effective for everyone. You can purchase her book through her website at www.juleepinel.com or directly from admin in our clinic.
Julee’s mission is simple: to make therapy practical, personal, and powerful. She believes therapy should be a collaborative process where clients feel heard, respected, and equipped with tools that actually work.
