About Samantha
Specialist in Child and Adolescent Assessment and Psychological Support
Samantha Brown is a Psychologist specialising in the assessment and psychological support of children and adolescents, working across both the Sippy Downs and Maroochydore clinics. Her particular expertise lies in psychological assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD — assessments that are currently open and available, providing families with timely access to the diagnostic clarity that is so often the first step toward appropriate support.
Samantha works with clients from infancy through to late adolescence (0–18 years), bringing a developmentally informed approach to every stage of childhood and adolescence. She understands that children are not simply small adults — that their psychological needs, their ways of communicating distress, and the most effective therapeutic approaches are all shaped by their developmental stage. This nuanced understanding is the foundation of her clinical work.
In addition to her assessment work, Samantha provides individual therapy for children and adolescents across a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, OCD, and the psychological challenges associated with ASD and ADHD. Her therapy waitlist is currently active but can usually find availability with her dynamic diary— families are encouraged to contact the admin team to enquire or be placed on the waitlist and to discuss assessment options in the meantime.
Therapeutic Approach
Developmentally Sensitive, Evidence-Based Assessment and Therapy
Samantha's approach to both assessment and therapy is grounded in developmental psychology and the best available evidence for child and adolescent mental health. She works collaboratively with children, adolescents, and their families — recognising that the family system is a critical context for understanding and supporting a young person's psychological wellbeing.

The Person Behind the Clinician
Samantha's Approach to Care
Every child who comes to see me is trying their best with the tools they have. My job is to help them — and their families — build better tools.
Samantha's warmth and patience with children and young people is immediately apparent. She has a gift for building rapport with even the most reluctant young clients — creating a space that feels safe, non-threatening, and even enjoyable. Her ability to connect with children across a wide developmental range, from toddlers to teenagers, reflects both her clinical training and her genuine love of working with young people.
She is a strong advocate for early intervention — believing that identifying and addressing psychological difficulties in childhood and adolescence can have a profound and lasting impact on a young person's trajectory. Her assessment work is particularly important in this context: providing families with the diagnostic clarity they need to access appropriate support, accommodations, and services.
Samantha works closely with families throughout the assessment and therapy process, recognising that parents and caregivers are essential partners in supporting their child's wellbeing. She takes the time to explain her findings clearly, answer questions thoroughly, and develop practical recommendations that families can actually implement.
